+ I can't make it to the race. What is your refund policy?
Please review our official refund/transfer policy HERE.
+ What will the weather be like?
Year 1 was very hot. Like in the upper 80s hot! 2018 was mild with a cold start in the mid 40s and afternoon highs in the upper 60s. We've also seen it snow in April in Kentucky. Our advice: prepare mentally and physically for ANY possibility.
+ Will I get wet?
Maybe if it rains. There are some very minor water crossings on the course but nothing that really requires you to get your feet wet. If it rains in the days leading up to the race you will have some mud to deal with in the valleys.
+ What if it does rain?
The Big Turtle goes on rain or shine. We do have an extreme weather plan in the cases of lighting/thunder storms. In those extreme cases we may delay, pause, or even cancel the race. That is rare and unlikely, but those possibilities always exist. If it is raining incredibly hard, though, you're gonna get wet!!!!
+ Where do I park?
Racer parking is at the overflow lot where Route 32 (Wilkinson Blvd) meets University Blvd. The parking lot is across from Dairy Queen. You will cross Route 32/Wilkinson Blvd. and walk to the Laughlin Health Building.
+ Can I leave a bag at the start/finish line?
Yes we will have gear check, so you can leave your gear with us at the start/finish line. This way you won't have to walk back to your car immediately after the race.
+ Can I have a drop bag?
You bet. 50 Milers and 50Kers can have drop bags. Drop bags are available at the Family Matters Aid Station (50M & 50K), Boy Meets World Aid Station (50M & 50K), and The Wonder Years Aid Station (50M Only).
+ Can I have crew and/or a pacer?
50 mile racers can have a crew and a pacer. Reference the event guide on the race web page for specific information regarding pacer and crew locations. No pacers allowed for 50K or 10 Milers.
