Shirts

The deadline to order race shirts has now passed. We MAY have shirts for sale at the race for $15 each (cash/Venmo/Paypal only), but no guarantees. We will not know if we have leftovers until after the races start.

Parking & Finding The Race :)

The race is at Koomer Ridge Campground. Get directions from the race web page (link above). We stage the race at the amphitheater across from the bathhouse. Here is what you need to know about getting into the campground, parking, and making your way to the start line:

  • You will need to park your car, then WALK up the road to the amphitheater.

  • There will be signs directing you to the amphitheater.

  • Parking is EXTREMELY limited. Most of the parking is along the roadside throughout the campground and at the small parking lot at the front.

  • Please fill up the parking lot first.

  • If parking on the roadside, get as much of your vehicle off the pavement as possible while also ensuring you don’t get yourself stuck.

  • DO NOT park in campsite parking spaces unless you have reserved that campsite for the day/night.

  • DO NOT park in such a way that an emergency vehicle cannot pass. If you do, you’ll be towed.

  • DO NOT block the traffic signs around the bathhouse.

Please reference the image below for some helpful parking tips.

Camping and Campground Facilities

If you are planning to camp at the campground, please remember:

  1. The campground is first come, first served. You cannot reserve spots.

  2. No car camping is permitted overnight outside of reserved campsites.

There will be portable toilets available at the race. The bathhouse is still closed for the winter season, unfortunately. The portables will be located near the bathhouse.

Course Marking

  1. The trails will be marked with PINK flags in the ground.

  2. The flags will have the Next Opportunity Events logo on them.

  3. Flags are placed at turns and important intersections.

  4. Runners are responsible for keeping an eye out for the flags. Especially at the Chimney Top Aid Station out and back around mile 10ish.

REMEMBER: We flag the course, provide online and printable maps, and make downloadable GPS files available. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR NAVIGATING THE COURSE. Please study the route in advance, put the GPS file on your phone or watch, print the maps, or whatever you need to do to ensure you can navigate the course correctly.

Timing, Results, and Awards

  1. The race will be manually timed. That means timers at the aid stations and the finish line need to SEE your bib number clearly in order to record split times and your finish time.

  2. If your bib is not visible, you will not get a time.

  3. Do not put your bib on your back, under your jacket or running pack, in your pocket, etc.

  4. Results will be streamed online to Ultrasignup.com.

  5. Finishers will receive their finisher award as they finish.

  6. Podium awards will be presented at the finish line as runners finish.

Race Etiquette: Timing, Results, and Questions

Throughout the race, please DO NOT ENTER THE TIMING TENT OR ASK THE TIMERS QUESTIONS DURING THE RACE. If you have questions about the race including questions about your splits, times, results, or ranking please go to the packet pickup/registration table and ask one of the RDs or volunteers.

Race timing is very intricate, detailed work. When timers are distracted it almost always leads to mistakes, inaccurate times, and awards getting mixed up. To maintain the integrity of the race results, please let the timers focus on their work.

Need a correction to your time? Come find someone at the packet pickup area OR send us an email.

Aid Station Food

Aid stations will have a variety of food, but we keep it simple. Our races are….RACES, not buffets. We stock our aid stations with enough salty and sweet food items to keep you fueled to the next aid station. Each aid station has water, Sword electrolyte drink, Coke, some salty snacks, some sweet snacks, and some fruit. Some aid stations have PB&J. Some don’t!

See You At The Race!
