faqS

  • Oops! Sounds like you're looking for Golden Corral. If you're looking for a full service buffet, you came to the wrong place. If you want a no bullshit trail race, sign up for one of the races on the left!

  • It's a trail race. In Kentucky. It's hard! Sometimes our volunteers go the extra mile and bring ice. Sometimes they don't. That's not what this is about. If you're hot, sit down in the next creek you see. Don't be a baby.

  • No. Not everyone likes your dog. Dogs make some people uncomfortable. Don't assume everyone loves dogs the way you do. You can leave them at home this time. Also, it is a stipulation of our liability insurance policy that no pets be at the race.

  • No. See above. Leave the pets at home while you race.

  • Nope! You're responsible for finding your way, and we don't care if you're friends at home can track you online. This is about you, your race, and the trail. Our safety teams do track runners during the race to ensure safety.

  • Salty snacks. Sweet snacks. Probably pickles. Always water and Gatorade. Usually some Coke and potato chips. Aid stations are not buffets. They are to give you enough AID to get to the next checkpoint and ultimately to the finish line.

If you're looking for hot soup, fresh quesadillas, ice cold beverages, foot massages, and room service you're probably more suited for a posh resort vacation, and Kentucky's trails may just be too hard for you. But, we hope you prove us wrong.

  • Of course not. Our distances are measured with GPS which is known to be inaccurate. We do our best by plotting out our courses using multiple mapping systems and hiking/running the routes ourselves numerous times. Inaccuracies will still exist. If the race says it's 50K, it's probably going to be a bit over. Maybe a bit less. Deal with it.

  • Every finisher gets a finisher award of some kind. It's different at every race. Top three men and top three women receive a podium prize.

We don't do age group awards.

  • Shirts are an optional purchase. Pre-order them at least 1 month out from the race date. Sometimes we have extras to sell on race day. Sometimes we don't.

  • The forest is your restroom.
