Cantuckee Y'all Race Details
Hi everyone!
We’re so excited to see in just a few weeks at the first ever Cantuckee Y’all 50K and 15K at Natural Bridge State Park in Kentucky’s Red River Gorge!
The following sections contain important information about the race. Place make sure you’ve reviewed the RACE WEB PAGE in detail as well.. All of the important details about the format of the race, race day schedule, etc. are on that page.
Registration
REMINDER: Registration will close at midnight Eastern time on Wednesday of race week. Absolutely no last-minute or on-site registrations will be permitted. If you know people who are waiting until the last minute to register, please make sure to tell them to GET ON IT!
Shirts
The deadline to order race shirts has now passed. We MAY have shirts for sale at the race for $15 each, but no guarantees. We will not know if we have leftovers until after the races start.
Parking
Parking is at the Sky Lift parking lot in Natural Bridge State Park. Please do your homework so you know exactly where that is within the park. That is easy to find with a simple Google search or by looking at a map of the park.
Course Marking
The trails will be marked with PINK flags in the ground.
The flags will have the Next Opportunity Events logo on them.
Flags are placed at turns and important intersections.
There are no signs or arrows. Runners are responsible for keeping an eye out for the flags.
REMEMBER: We flag the course, provide online and printable maps, and make downloadable GPS files available. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR NAVIGATING THE COURSE. Please study the route in advance, put the GPS file on your phone or watch, print the maps, or whatever you need to do to ensure you can navigate the course correctly.
Timing, Results, and Awards
The race will be manually timed. That means timers at the aid stations and the finish line need to SEE your bib number clearly in order to record split times and your finish time.
If your bib is not visible, you will not get a time. Simple.
Do not put your bib on your back, under your jacket or running pack, in your pocket, etc.
Results will be streamed online to Ultrasignup.com.
Finishers will receive their finisher award as they finish.
Podium awards will be presented at the finish line as runners finish.
Race Etiquette: Timing, Results, and Questions
Throughout the race, please DO NOT ENTER THE TIMING TENT OR ASK THE TIMERS QUESTIONS DURING THE RACE. If you have questions about the race including questions about your splits, times, results, or ranking please go to the packet pickup/registration table and ask one of the RDs or volunteers.
Race timing is very intricate, detailed work. When timers are distracted it almost always leads to mistakes, inaccurate times, and awards getting mixed up. To maintain the integrity of the race results, please let the timers focus on their work.
Finish Line Food
We will have some hot food at the finish line! Please stick around and cheer on your fellow runners. Bring a lawn chair or camping chair and hang out with us!
Aid Station Food
Aid stations will have a variety of food, but we keep it simple. Our races are….RACES, not buffets. We stock our aid stations with enough salty and sweet food items to keep you fueled to the next aid station. Each aid station has water, Sword electrolyte drink, Coke, some salty snacks, some sweet snacks, and some fruit. Some aid stations have PB&J. Some don’t. This is a competitive athletic event, not Golden Corral. :)
