Volunteer Info - 2 Weeks Out!

Hi everyone!

We’re so excited to have all of you with us at the race. Let’s jump right into what you need to know now that we are two weeks out from the race.

Cancellation - Do It Now If You’re Gonna

Please let us know ASAP if you signed up for a volunteer position but will not make it to the race. Volunteers play a critical safety role in events like this. Volunteer last-minute cancellations or no-shows put runners at risk as we plan our safety operations around how much people power we will have at the race.

Review Your Volunteer Details

Please read the details of your volunteer position if you have not done so yet. You can log back into Signup.com to see the details of your shift and location.

Shift Times

Please review your shift times very closely to ensure you are where you need to be at the correct time. Please note that aid station closing times are approximate. Aid stations will not fully close down until all runners are accounted for and the sweepers have passed. That may be sooner or later than the published end time of your shift.

Aid Stations

If you signed up for the opening shift of an aid station, please report to the start line at Natural Bridge State Park first that morning to pick up all of the gear and supplies for your aid station. Be sure to allow enough time for yourselves to load the gear, drive to your aid station, set up your aid station (allow at least a half hour for this), and be ready for runners at your aid station’s opening time. Remember, your time details are listed on the Signup.com entry for your volunteer spot.

Locations

You can get exact details for your assigned location from the online course map. Access the map HERE. To get directions to your aid station or course marshal position:

  1. Open the map.

  2. Click the aid station or course marshal spot you are interested in (left-hand menu).

  3. A dialog box will appear on the map that contains information about that specific point on the map.

  4. Under the name of the waypoint there will be a set of GPS coordinates. Those can be copied and pasted into Google Maps to get directions.
