Fall Award Previews, Pricing Updates, and 2025 Race News

Next Opportunity Events Monthly Newsletter

There has been a lot going on behind the scenes this year at NOE, and we’re happy to bring back our monthly newsletter to keep you up to date on what’s been going on.

Our hope with this newsletter is to create a consistent schedule to get the most recent race news and updates in your hands and to give you first looks at awards, swag, course previews, and more.

Don’t Forget…WE PAY YOUR FEES when you sign up!

When you sign up for one of our races, we pay your Ultrasignup and credit card processing fees. You pay the price listed on our web site plus sales tax. That’s it! We cover the rest.

Check out the race web page for each of our races to review the most up to date event prices.

IMPORTANT: When you click the button on Ultrasignup to register, the prices shown include taxes AND processing fees. When you get to the checkout screen, those processing fees disappear because we cover those fees for you!

What else is there to say check out our podium awards for the Falling Springs 50K & 10K AND the Cantuckee Y’all 50K & 15K!!!

We think they turned out great! If you haven’t signed up for the races yet, get 15% off your registration with the code “FALLAWARDS”.

Big Turtle 2.0 - New Take On A Classic in 2025

We’ve revamped the Big Turtle Trail Runs for 2025 and created the new, improved Big Turtle 2.0 with updated 50 Mile, 50K, and 10 Mile trail races in Morehead, Kentucky.

What’s New?

  1. New start/finish location - we’re now starting and finish on campus at Morehead State University in the student plaza square. We’re less than a block away from Sawstone Brewing and many other great downtown restaurants, coffee shops, and more!

  2. New routes and new hills through campus - with the change in start/finish location, you get some new looks through Morehead State’s campus (and a few new hills) before you hit the trailhead.

  3. 50 Mile reroute - For the 50 Mile route, we’re bringing back the Elk Lick Aid Station, BUT we’ve now put it at the bottom of the hill and have runners leave the Sheltowee Trace trail entirely. Now 50 Milers get TWO extra climbs up onto the ridge as they must come down the aid station and take a new trail back up!

We’re super excited about the 50 Mile route change because it gives runners an additional aid station PLUS some extra climbing to prove your Bluegrass Badassery. And we couldn’t be happier with our new start/finish location. Cross the finish line and enjoy all the local downtown activities of Morehead.

In the coming months, we are working on partnering with other local businesses to try to make sure downtown is jumpin’ when you finish!

Red River Gorge Ultra is BACK

We’re excited to bring back the RRG Ultra in all its two-day glory: 50K on Saturday, 25K on Sunday. And if you’re crazy enough, sign up for both!

We’ll be back at Koomer Ridge Campground Amphitheater on April 5-6, 2025 to get back to basics in the beautifully brutal Red River Gorge. Registration is now open!

We’re also really excited about being able to host the RRG Ultra in the springtime. It’s a great final training run for anyone looking to take on the Big Turtle 2.0 later in April.

Those are all of our updates for this month! We’ll be back in the feed next month with more news about fall 2024 races and some exciting updates about the Y’allhalla Ultras!
